4th November
2009

Chris Gleed has obtained the services of Chris Gilbert, (Roadcraft/Metropolitan Police Hendon), as our ‘Speaker’ for tonight's meeting. As most of you know, Chris is a very prolific and entertaining speaker who exudes enthusiasm.

Chris Gilbert has a wealth of driving experience both inside and outside the Metropolitan Police Service. He’s been involved in driver training for over 35 years and as a Class 1 police driver, taught high performance advanced driving for 22 years.

As a police staff trainer he helped to select and trained new police and civilian instructors, and perfected a range of teaching techniques for converting Class 1 police drivers into Advanced Class 1 instructors.

Chris has taught learner drivers as an RAC Registered Driving Instructor/ Ministry of Transport Approved Driving Instructor. In the police service, he has taught at all  levels of advanced driving up to the coveted Advanced Class 1 level,  including pursuit driving,  999 driving, high speed night driving, convoy driving, towing, PCV, LGV, skid pan instruction and training new driving instructors. He also taught  tactical vehicle deployment for riot situations, anti surveillance training for British government ministerial and European Parliament Brussels drivers. He is a former Police Advanced Driving Examiner and a DSA Delegated PCV & LGV Driving Examiner.

His talk will be about two hours long with a break halfway through and will include as much detail as possible about his driving history, Roadcraft and its principles as well as information on ‘Response Driving’. Chris has also taught Prince William and Prince Harry to drive!

His ‘Ultimate Driving Craft’ DVD will be available at a reduced price for the night so it will be worth coming along to take advantage of that offer. A preview is available on YouTube.

Obviously Chris has a fair way to travel to speak to us so please, do yourselves a great favour and come along to take advantage of his talk and go away enlightened with the fact that you will possess more knowledge than you came in with.

Please invite along anyone who may also be interested in coming.

Bring with you all those questions you've always wanted to ask!!!!
